Ukrainians mark Day of Defender of Ukraine

This day can be called the celebration of victory and honour of the Ukrainian people, as well as the day of commemorating all those who have been fighting for their land, defending the sovereignty of Ukraine for centuries. The Day of Defender of Ukraine was officially established as holiday on October 14, 2014 by Presidential Decree “with the aim of honouring the courage and heroism of the defenders of the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine, military tradition and victories of the Ukrainian people, promoting further strengthening of patriotic spirit in the society.”
