"I asked to double the aid provided to us from $7.5 billion to at least $15 billion," the minister said at a press conference in Kyiv, commenting on her numerous meetings at the annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in Lima (Peru). Jaresko noted that currently Ukraine has four good reasons to expect a significant increase in such support with an initial amount of $7.5 billion agreed within the approval of the Extended Fund Facility program of the IMF at the beginning of this year. According to her, the matter concerns the cessation of active hostilities in the east of the country and the Minsk accords that allow to more confidently predict the future, the increased confidence in the ability of the governments and the authorities to carry out reforms and gain experience from these reforms, as well as the elimination of gaps in the balance of payments. The minister noted that since the beginning of 2015 international support for Ukraine within the framework of the IMF program has reached $9.7 billion. Kyiv plans by the end of the year to obtain another $4 billion.
