Switzerland ready to increase aid to Ukraine

Switzerland has declared his country's readiness to double humanitarian and technical assistance to Ukraine in 2015-2018.

This was disclosed by the newly appointed Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to Ukraine, Guillaume Scheurer.

At a meeting with the Ukrainian president, at which the ambassador handed his credentials to the head of state, he also said that the active participation of Switzerland in the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in the east of Ukraine remains the priority and 16 representatives of his country as part of this mission will continue to actively work for a peaceful settlement of the situation.

Poroshenko and Scheurer paid special attention to the discussion of further bilateral contacts at the highest level and the establishment of cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the OSCE in the context of settling the situation in Donbas and protecting the rights of Ukrainian citizens in occupied Crimea.
