A Ukrainian army serviceman was killed and another seven suffered injuries in shelling incidents and fighting in Donbas in the past 24 hours, Ukrainian Presidential Administration spokesman for the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) Andriy Lysenko told a press briefing in Kyiv on June 6.
Ukrainian army positions in Donbas came under 35 attacks over the past day, the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) headquarters informed.
Ukrainian positions near the village of Stanytsia Luhanska in the Luhansk sector were shelled by infantry combat vehicles, large-caliber machine-guns and grenade launchers.In addition to small arms, large-caliber machine guns and grenade launchers, mortars of various types were used in the attacks on Ukrainian strongholds near the town of Avdiyivka, the village of Opytne and Pisky, Mayorsk, Myronivske, Luhanske and Butivka coal mine in the Donetsk sector. Some 40 shells were fired from a self-propelled artillery weapon near the village of Yasnobrodivka.Ukrainian army positions came under mortar fire near the village of Pavlopil in the Mariupol sector; three attacks were launched on Ukrainian positions near the town of Krasnohorivka during the day.
Small arms, large-caliber machine-guns and various types of grenade launchers were fired on Ukrainian positions near Maryinka, Krasnohorivka, the villages of Novotroitske, Shyrokyne and Lebedynske.
