Tensions persisted in the army operation zone in eastern Ukraine and gunfire became more intense in the past 24 hours.
Some 50 attacks on Ukrainian army strongholds were observed, among them 33 in the Mariupol sector, 15 in the Donetsk zone and two in the Luhansk area," the army operation press center wrote on Facebook on June 24 morning.
Ukrainian positions near Shyrokyne, Lybidinske, Chermalyk and Talakivka in the Mariupol sector came under mortar fire of the hostiles, while fortifications near Maryinka, Krasnohorivka, Novotroitske, Berezove and Hnutove were attacked by use of small arms, large-caliber machineguns and grenade launchers. Infantry combat vehicle weapons and an anti-aircraft missile system of the hostiles attacked strongholds in the vicinity of Talakivka and Vodiane.
