As of August 6,000 military personnel of the Russian armed forces are fighting in Donbas . This is stated in the information of the General Staff of Ukraine. The lion's share of them are representatives of mechanized infantry brigades. In addition, according to the General Staff, in eastern Ukraine 35,000 militants are fighting under the leadership of the Russian military.
