Rio Paralympics 2016 get underway

The games are host to more than 4,500 athletes, who will compete for 428 medals in 22 sports. The 2012 Paralympics included 20 sports and 503 medal competitions. New events in these games are the paracanoe and paratriathlon. Rio Paralympics will be held through to September 18th. Ukraine's paralympics squad is the largest ever with 155 Ukrainian athletes competing in 14 sports.
