Annually, almost 500 health care workers of medical institutions that do not specialize in the treatment of tuberculosis, are diagnosed with tuberculosis.
This is reported by the Ministry of Health.
It is noted that when taking patients, doctors are exposed daily to various infections, including tuberculosis. You can get infected from patients who have not been diagnosed with tuberculosis or are being mistakenly treated from other diseases.
The Ministry of Health has provided practical guidance to doctors on how to reduce the risk of infection for healthcare professionals and patients, and how to identify tuberculosis. In particular, they are advised to pay attention to coughing for two or more weeks, lack of appetite or weight loss, excessive fatigue.
