The Zenit-3SLBF launch vehicle developed and produced in Ukraine has successfully put Angolan communications satellite Angosat into near-earth orbit, the Dnipro-based state-run Pivdenne (Yuzhnoye) Design Bureau's information center reported on .December 27.
According to the press release, the launch was carried out within the framework of the Land Launch international program from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan, at 21:00, Kyiv time, on December 26.
The Zenit-3SLBF comprises a Zenit-3SLB launch vehicle, designed by Pivdenne Bureau, and Fregat-SB booster stage and payload fairing, both developed by Russia's NPO Lavochkin Scientific and Production Association. It delivers medium-weight payloads into medium and high circular and elliptical orbits, including geostationary transfer and geostationary orbits, and escape trajectories.
