Ukraine ready to pay over UAH 10 bln to restore infrastructure in Donbas - Poroshenko

"The Ukrainian authorities have accumulated over UAH 10 billion now that it could be allocated to restore infrastructure. Our European and U.S. partners would add four or five times more," he said in an interview with Dnipropetrovsk television late on Tuesday. He said that German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that her country is ready to provide EUR 500 million that could be urgently allocated to restore infrastructure in Donbas. "We would do this, but peace should be kept, the Ukrainian flag and Ukraine's sovereignty should be restored. I have no doubts that they would not survive in this situation," he added. He also said that a week ago the Ukrainian authorities sent a group with machinery that was to start restoring water supply in the region, however militants prevented this. Poroshenko said that Ukraine informed OSCE about this at once.
