Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and U.S. President Barack Obama have held negotiations on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session in New York.
As Poroshenko told journalists after the negotiations he had very important talks with the U.S. leadership during which the two parties had a chance to discuss further steps to implement the Minsk agreement and resolute steps to coordinate our actions as to compiling a 'roadmap' of implementing these agreements, priorities of the security component of the Minsk agreements and the date of implementing the political part of the Minsk process.
The meeting also touched on the U.S. support of reforms in Ukraine, in particular the provision of financial aid amounting to $1 billion in loan guarantees, the President said.
"I think that by the end of the month the guarantees will be settled, and [$]1 billion of loan guarantees will get to the Ukrainian government's accounts," Poroshenko said.
