The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK stated that joint military drills of the United States and South Korea may inevitably lead to a war on the Korean peninsula.
This is stated in a statement by a representative of the MFA of the DPRK, reports Interfax.
"Recently, when the United States conducts the largest in the history joint air military exercises in the area of the Korean Peninsula, directed against the DPRK, high-ranking American politicians allow making one after another bellicose statements that are alarming," the representative of the North Korean Foreign Ministry said.
The statement says: "These hostile bellicose statements can not be seen in any other way than a warning that we must prepare for a war on the Korean Peninsula." The diplomat noted that "now there is only one question when the war will explode." He stressed: "We do not want a war, but we will not hide from it."
