On December 20 the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has created state-owned enterprise Energy Efficiency Fund. According to the law on the Energy Efficiency Fund, it is created to support energy efficiency initiatives, introduce incentive measures and support the implementation of measures to improve energy efficiency of buildings and energy saving, including in the residential sector.
Director general of the Energy Research Center Olexander Kharchenko commenting in the program "Today. Morning" on the Ukrainian Radion how the State Energy Efficiency Fund will work, said:
"The idea itself is very positive. Let's concentrate money from donors, will add funds from the budget, and under some transparent, understandable terms, we will offer, first of all, to business, because now the terms that are stated in the Law on the Energy Efficiency Fund and proposed by the Cabinet , for ordinary citizens, honestly, are not very achievable. But the Fund has been in the process of creating for more than two years and this process has not been completed yet. "
